Celebratory Lunch at Leven

/News Release Agency - CollegePressReleases.com/ 20 August 2010

Students from Adam Smith College and local employers marked their successful relationship recently at a special celebration lunch held at the
College's Leven Campus.

Employers from a range of companies including Diageo, Silberline, Remploy, Old Manor Hotel, Sandy Brae Community Centre, Savoy Centre, Community Mums and Cameron Hospital were in attendance.

All were welcomed by the College's Vice-Principal Shirley Scott who thanked supervisors, employees and students for the excellent partnership that has been set up to benefit all involved, particularly the local companies who take students on placements which enables them to complete their SVQ Level 2 IT Users qualification.

Sandra Paterson, Course Lecturer at Leven Campus, said, “The support of local businesses is invaluable for our students to gain the work experience required to enable them to gain the SVQ IT Users qualification. The course equips the students with the qualifications and work experience to improve their employment prospects which is backed up by the excellent support shown by local employers. The celebratory lunch was held as an opportunity for students and staff to show employers how valuable their support is and to thank them for making the students placement experience so positive.”
